THOMPSON LIFTS LADY CHARGERS TO WIN

Ciara Thompson lifts the Lady Chargers to a 85-83 win over the Lady Titans of Central Georgia Tech in front of a home crowd at the Corral. The Lady Chargers battled basket for basket throughout the first half but extended their lead to 8 points at the 4:45 mark of the second period. The Lady Titans fought back to cut GHC's lead to 2, 38-36 at the half. The second half was a mirror image of the first half with the Lady Titans and Lady Chargers trading baskets, with Central Georgia leading 59-58 at the end of the 3rd period. The Lady Titans led by 5 points with 1:15 left in regulation. The Lady Chargers tied the game on Ciara Thompson's three pointer with 40 seconds remaining in the game 83- 83. The Lady Titans in-bounded the ball, and the ball went off the hands of a Titans player. GHC took the ball the length of the court and Ciara Thompson hit her second big shot of the night,  hitting an 8 footer with 3.4 seconds remaining to give the Lady Chargers the lead and the win. "We fought extremely hard tonight, I think we grew up a little tonight, Ciara hit two huge shots when we needed them," said Lady Charger head coach Brandan Harrell. The Lady Chargers were led by Ciara Thompson with a double - double, 25 points, 12 rebounds, Sharai Lay with a double - double, 18 points, 11 rebounds, Nijeria Jordon 14 points, Ja'lyn Reese with 12 points and 5 assists, and Jessica Eadsforth Yates, 10 points and 5 assists.

The Lady Chargers, (10-9, 7-1 in conference play) will return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Albany Tech, tip off 5:30pm.
