Wallace State Lions Take Two from Chargers Softball in Thursday Night Action

 

Georgia Highlands College Chargers fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 9-0 loss to Wallace State Community College Lions on Thursday. The Chargers struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Wallace State, giving up nine runs in game one. Madison Dennis recorded the only hit in game one. 

Gracee Ellis started the game for Georgia Highlands College. The righthander surrendered eight runs on ten hits over four and a third innings, striking out two. Maggie Schandera threw two-thirds of an inning in relief allowing one hit and one earned run.

Bradey Tharp, Madison Dennis, Kyndal Brown, and Hailey Cronic aided in two double plays for the Chargers defense. Final score in game one, 9-0 Lions.

Game two was a tough game for the Chargers who did not record a hit until the fifth inning. Allison Deweese broke up the no-hitter with a homerun over the center field wall. Annsley Todd also recorded a single in the six frames. Final score 11-1, Lions take two.

Haley Robinson was in the pitcher's circle for Georgia Highlands in game two. The righthander went four innings, allowing seven four earned runs on 11 hits and walking zero. Katie Traynor threw two innings in relief allowing two hits and two earned runs, while walking two.
