The Chargers would win their first extra-inning affair of the 2019 season when they defeated Southern Union Community College 3-2 in 8 innings. The Chargers would stay tied 1-1 until the tie-breaker rule would come into effect in the 8th inning. Southern union scored their free runner from second on a sac bunt, and hit before Kara Kight would retire the side. The Chargers would start with speedy Alexis Davis as their free runner at 2nd base. Alexis would move to third on a wild pitch before Mya Adams would provide an RBI single to tie the game 2-2. Deyonce Lewis would put down the bunt, and Mya Adams would advance from first to third on the SAC. Kayla Laukka would come in and provide the ground ball to second to score the speedy Adams from 3rd base.
Kara Kight would improve her record to 4-2 pitching a complete 8-innings, allowing 2 runs (1 earned), on 4 hits, 1 walk, and two strikeouts. Sierrah Gani continues her hot streak adding two hits and a run scored. Five other Chargers would combine for 7 hits in the game.
Game two against Faulkner State would put the Chargers on the losing end of 3-2 decision, despite a 7th inning rally. Kayla Phillips (2-3) would earn the loss throwing 3.1 innings, allowing three runs, on only two hits, and four walks while striking out two. The Chargers were led by Mya Adams and Alexis Davis who would get two hits a piece. The Chargers would also swipe four bags on the day.
