Chargers Top Tigers, Headed to SGTC for GCAA Quarterfinal Tuesday

The Georgia Highlands College men’s basketball team closed out their regular season with a strong 93-75 win over Southern Crescent Technical College. Despite trailing by 13 points early in the game, the Chargers rallied to take their first lead just before halftime but still entered the break down 39-37.

In the second half, GHC dominated, outscoring SCTC 56-36 to secure the victory. Cameron Baldwin led the charge with a double-double, posting 18 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Jay’Quan Nelson matched Baldwin’s 18 points, while Marquin Thompson added 17 points.

The Chargers finish the regular season 17-11 overall and 9-7 in GCAA play. They’ll face South Georgia Technical College in the GCAA quarterfinals on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m., looking to break the season series tie after each team won on their home court.
