After leading by as many as 20 points in the first half the Chargers could not hold off the Jets of South Georgia Tech and their season end with a 103-99 loss. The Chargers were red hot in the first half shooting 60% from the field and 52.6% from the 3 point line. South Georgia Tech chipped away at the Chargers lead cutting it to 8, 53-45 with 1:34 to go in the first half but the Chargers took a 62-48 lead into the half.
The Chargers shooting turned cold in the second half scoring only 6 points in the first 8:00 minutes of the half, shooting 38.5% from the field and was 1 of 12 from the 3 points line. South Georgia Tech went on a 16-6 run to cut the Chargers lead to 66-64. South Georgia Tech took their first lead of the game since a 6-2 lead early in the first half, 74-73. Both teams traded baskets down the stretch with the Jets taking the lead for good 2:03 left, making their free throws to seal the win and advance to the conference finals versus Central Georgia Tech.
The Chargers were lead by a gritty performance by AJ Farrar with 25 points and 16 rebounds, DeMarcus Addie had 22 points, Khalyl Watters had 14 points, and Jeremiah Buford had 12.
GHC ended the season with a 20-10 record. The GCAA Championship game will be played at Georgia Highlands College at 3:00pm on Saturday with Central Georgia Tech taking on South Georgia Tech.
