Behind DeMarcus Addie's 31 points the Chargers roll to a 107-85 win over the Hawks of South Georgia State. The Chargers opened the game on a 13-0 run to and held at least a 10 point lead until the 6:05 mark of the first half but the Hawks cut the Chargers lead to 4, 30-26, but the Chargers pushed their lead to 9, 46-37 to close out the first half.
The Chargers turned up the defensive pressure in the second half forcing the Hawks to 24 turnovers for the game and extending their lead to 18 points, 65-47 with 14:35 mark and never looked back. "This was our 52nd conference win out of 54 conference games. Our team is really starting to gel," said Charger head coach Phil Gaffney.
DeMarcus Addie was the story of the game for the Chargers going 11-18 from the field and 6-11 from the 3 point line for 31 points, TaJuan Johnson had 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists, Shae Brown had 17 points, AJ Farrar had 16 points and 7 rebounds.
The Chargers (16-7, 10-1) have now won 8 straight games and lead the GCAA conference. GHC return to action on Saturday as they travel to Albany Tech for a 4:00pm tip off.
