Former Charger first baseman Nick Fink sat down to discuss his relationship with the GHC coaching staff and reflect on his time playing at Georgia Highlands. Fink was a key member of the 2017 NJCAA Region 17 and GCAA Championship team, earning a Rawlings NJCAA National Gold Glove for his superb play as the anchor to an incredibly strong GHC infield.
In addition to saving countless runs with his defense prowess, Fink belted 9 home runs and 11 doubles in his career while driving in 39 runs, stealing 15 bases, and serving as a team captain his sophomore year.
Head Coach Dash O'Neill raved about Nick and what he meant to the 2017 team. "No way we compete as well as we did in 17 without Nick Fink's leadership on and off the field. He was a truly dynamic defender and a versatile contributor on offense that could hit it over your head, steal a base, or move a runner. More importantly, Nick was a true leader who inspired his teammates with his toughness, aggressive play, and "follow me" personality. I'm proud to have had the opportunity to work with him."
