Chargers Continue Impressive Track Record of Player Advancement
As the 2019 fall season ends, the Chargers’ group of sophomore players find themselves in a position that has become familiar since Head Coach Dash O’Neill has come to the helm;
As the 2019 fall season comes to a close, GHC's sophomore players find themselves in a position that has become quite familiar since Dash O'Neill took the helm just over three years ago - they are preparing to advance to four-year institutions to finish their academic and athletic careers.
Since O'Neill took over the Charger program before the 2016-2017 season, a whopping forty-eight Chargers have moved on to continue their academic and athletic careers at four-year schools. This looks to be another campaign in which the Chargers will continue their phenomenal advancement rate. Already this fall, four Charger sophomores have chosen where they will take the next step in their careers. Additionally, eleven other sophomores have received offers from four year programs.
O'Neill holds this success close to his heart as he considers player advancement something that not only makes the program special, but speaks volumes about the talents and character of his players. "The big saying that we have around here is 'You go because we go' and the players have bought in. They understand that if we come together as a team and chase success as a club that doors will open for them as individuals. We've been fortunate enough to have some really good players come through this program and we look to continue creating opportunities for the players in the years to come."
The program's track record over the last three years makes clear that if a player comes to Georgia Highlands and puts in the work on and off the field, there is no limit to the opportunities that may present themselves.
