Wednesday's game at Andrew College saw the Chargers fall behind 6-0 after two innings before freshman hurler Ethan Underwood took over and shut down the Fighting Tigers' bats so the GHC offense could havce a chance to make it a game. Underwood allowed just one hit, a solo homer, in 5 strong innings and struck out 5. More importantly, he kept the Chargers in the game, and the Chargers rallied in the last 4 innings for 16 runs on 20 hits, 5 Andrew Errors, and 7 free passes.
A total of 6 Chargers hitters recorded multiple hits in the contest and Trace Twardoski and Logan Ward each provided solid innings in relief or Underwood, who earned the first victory of his career. The Chargers are now 24-17 on the year and 10-8 in GCAA competition. They will host Andrew College for three games this weekend starting with a 5PM game on Friday night at Lakepoint.
