Softball Drops Home Opener 6-5

Motlow's softball team opened the home portion of its schedule with a 6-5 loss in the first game of a doubleheader against visiting Georgia Highlands.

The Bucks (4-8) won game two, 4-2. Motlow will open TCCAA play when it hosts Walters State on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Trailing 6-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Motlow pushed across two runs to cut the lead to one.

Allie Anderson had two hits, drove in a run and scored a run. Michalee Clay had a hit with two runs batted in. Jordan Lund had a hit, stole a base, and scored a run.

Mary Bradley (1-4) took the loss in the circle for Motlow, pitching four innings and allowing four hits and one earned run.

Susanna Cruit pitched the final three innings, allowing three hits and one earned run.
