Softball Wins 4-2 over Georgia Highlands

The Motlow Bucks rode a stellar pitching performance and timely hitting to a 4-2 win over Georgia Highlands on Wednesday in the second game of a doubleheader.

Motlow (4-8) dropped the opening game 6-5. The Bucks will open TCCAA action this weekend, hosting Walters State for doubleheaders on Sunday and Monday.

Hannah Burks (2-0) got the win in the circle, tossing 5.2 innings and allowing five hits and zero earned runs. Mary Bradley pitched the final 1.1 innings perfectly, including two strikeouts.

Motlow scored two runs in the third inning and single runs in the fourth and sixth innings.

Jordan Lund had three hits for Motlow and stole two bases. Lund also scored a run and drove in a run. McCenzie McAnally and Savanna Beard had two hits, with McAnally driving in a run and Beard scoring one. Demi Garner also drove in a run. Motlow had four stolen bases, including two by Lund.
