Fresh off a GCAA conference road win on Wednesday against Albany Technical College, the Lady Chargers returned home to face the Northwest Florida State Lady Raiders in the 2nd game of the Georgia Highlands Thanksgiving Classic. The game would prove to be a tough one for GHC as NW Florida came in played like the #4 ranked in the NJCAA.

The Lady Raiders jumped out to an 11-2 lead early in the first quarter. The Chargers regrouped and hung close, pulling to within 11-17 as the quarter was winding down. Unfortunately, that was as close as they would get the rest of the way. NW Florida with hit one more bucket to extend their lead to 19-11 at the end of the first. They would continue to pull away in the second quarter and extend their lead to 40-23 over the Chargers at the half.

Rather than let the game get out of hand in the second half, the Ladies kept fighting and kept the deficit pretty consistent the remainder of the way. In the end, the Lady Raiders prevailed by a final score of 74-52.

The Chargers were led by Ja’Lyn Reese’s game-high 21 points, including 4 from behind the arc. She also had 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Sasha Shishkina added 16 points and 3 steals.
