Lady Chargers get home win over Snead State

The Lady Chargers played their first game of the year at the Corral and came away with a tough fought win 60-57 over Snead State. Georgia Highlands got out to a fast start leading 9-2 and had control throughout the first half leading 34-23 at the break. The Lady Chargers keep up the pace in second half early pulling out to their largest lead of the night 38-23. However, Snead State fought back late in the second half to go on a 10-0 run of their own to cut the Lady Chargers lead to 3 with a shot at the buzzer to tie the game but it fell short.

" We got in foul trouble late with our point guard and we had some kids step up." "However we can't continue to get out rebounded, lose the turnover battle and shoot 50% from the free throw line at home, we got to clean that up," said Lady Charger Head Coach Brandan Harrell

The Lady Chargers were led by Anna Stewart with 16 points, followed by Kateryna Khomenko with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and Ozahria with 13 points. With the win Georgia Highlands goes to (3-1) on the season and (1-0) in GCAA Confernce play.

The Lady Chargers retutn to action on Monday as they travel to Gadsden State , tip off at 5:30pm CST.
